-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- [posted and mailed to hkk@netcom.com] My legal counsel suggested I remove any conceivably offending direct quotations from this message. I've done so, putting paraphrases in [[double brackets]]. I still claim the original one was legal, but I wish to avoid litigation. Please note the "Supercedes:" header, which will cause the previous message to be automatically replaced with this one, thereby effectively removing it. -- Taneli Huuskonen [posted to alt.religion.scientology and retained on my Web page at http://www.helsinki.fi/~huuskone/Scn/nots-1.asc] Copyright 1996 Taneli Huuskonen. I hereby grant anyone the right to redistribute this text as a whole or in part, provided this copyright notice is retained intact. This is a summary of parts of HCO Bulletin of 15 September 1978, Issue I, which is the first issue of the NED for OTs series. I've tried to contain my own comments in [brackets], and direct quotations from the original [[have been removed, but the original ones were]] enclosed in "double quote marks". Taneli Huuskonen The EP (End Phenomenon, or the desired outcome, which will indicate that the process has been successfully finished) of NOTS is [[BLEEP]]. NOTS 1 explains the theory behind it and contains some previously unpublished data about OT III. When a Clear or above is given Dianetic auditing, there will be problems, as the pc's Body Thetans will start supplying false "earlier similar" incidents when the pc is asked for one, if there are none in the pc's own Reactive Mind. The BT's respond to the pc's thoughts in a totally automatic way, and conversely, the pc can "see" the Body Thetans' Mental Image Pictures just fine, as if the BT's were the pc him/herself. [A wog could even fail to see what difference the whole process of Clearing makes, if you're freed from your own Reactive Mind only to have your Body Thetans' Reactive Minds affect you just the same. However, not realizing the difference between yourself and your various BT's causes chaos, according to Ron.] _SOMATICS_ There can be BT's that have somatics (bodily pains and disorders) of their own, but are attached to different body parts. For instance, a BT can have a pain in the ear and be attached to your forehead. So, you'll feel a pain in your forehead but somehow [telepathically, I presume] know it's a pain in someone's ear. As Ron puts it, [[it's quite confusing]]. _MENTAL TRANSMISSION_ If two thetans are actually touching each other [hey, since when did a thetan occupy space in the MEST universe?], it helps them communicate telepathically. They can even reach out over a considerable distance to do this. For example, when [[two well brainwashed OT's concentrate on the same part of a wall in front of them, they'll feel like there's something buzzing there, not at a single point but in an area clearly larger than a poodle.]] This phenomenon is what's used to make BT's blow. But there's a caveat: [[Some BT's can be connected to the body by some kind of strings or beams, even though they appear to have blown.]] [fast forward...] _MEMORY_ [wow, now we learn why a Clear doesn't _appear_ to have a perfect memory, although (s)he actually has, of course -- Ron said so.] [[Even a Clear or OT won't necessarily be able to remember perfectly.]] The Clear is supposed to remember something, and the Body Thetans mess things up by supplying their more or less accurate pictures instead of the real ones. Remember, the BT's are _very_ aberrated beings. [[A BT may not be able to tell Oxford from Arcturus, so a Clear, despite her/his perfect memory, may get a BT's pictures instead of remembering Oxford correctly and get things really mixed up.]] _DORMANT BTs AND CLUSTERS_ The BT's you're dealing with on the NOTS course are dormant, that is, in a very low state of consciousness, [[dead or even lower.]] Beware: [[That fate awaits FBI agents and others antagonistic to Scientology, unless they are there already.]] Spending your next trillion years in that state, not really dead but hoping you are, won't be much fun. This peculiar way of existing explains the need for NOTs, in fact: [[At the end of OT III, one is supposedly freed of all BT's. However, Ron already hinted in an "Axiom" of Scientology that he mightn't be quite serious when he says "all" or "none whatsoever" or something like that.]] However, there aren't as many BT's hanging around here and landing on new bodies as one might think, despite the fact that this universe is [[infested with such critters. And the Earth is the worst spot of all.]] [Very encouraging, eh?] On NOTS, you handle the BT's that need to be stirred awake before you can communicate with them, unlike the easy ones you got rid on OT III. Despite their dormant state, they can still cause problems, just like the earlier ones. [Why do I feel an urge to word-clear "bait and switch"? Must be my Reactive Mind...] -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.2i iQB1AwUBMZHPcAUw3ir1nvhZAQGy7gL/XnIHotO1M/K5crGj/s6bKIDWKVxoLVIW 17+JO6VhLkc2r81KfzhYve0wFPqftVDVr0RGxRM6lkJjaaQ/GlYiVtKzlICV6voh zib0eG1z14fZPKmfcQpTzk0uBI/VNTgU =nbcp -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
