It is not possible to make accurate dilutions by the method you describe. In the early stages they are a little weaker than you think, because some of the solute (salt) bonds to active sites on the glass. In the later stages the dilutions are **very** much stronger than you think, because the salt bound to the walls in the early stages re-enters the liquid. And you left out the necessity to carefully level the electron microscope; if it isn't absolutely level then quantum gravitational perturbations will screw you up completely. -- xxx
