Round 2 aftermath: ------------------ The party killed a total of 100 skeletons, raised, most likely, from the Seaspray graveyard. (The party passed the graveyard as they approached the town. There were quite a few newly emptied holes. Apparently the graveyard's Consecrate spell had failed during Darkestnight.) I considered this a CR5 encounter, though it would have been much more dangerous if not for Gridley. The party killed Lord Morgan, the vampire prince of Seaspray, during the first round of combat. Excellent teamwork on the part of the spellcasters. This was a CR8 "encounter." Melestav the mummy, plus the two vampire spawn servants, were also CR8. 10500xp, divided six ways, is 1750xp each. Party is now at 12316 experience. Enajien gets full experience despite being played by Tara since Jgerman had a good reason for his absence. ------------------ Loot: Gifts from Lord Morgan: 3 pearls of power I Etale 2 pearls of power II Etale 1 pearl of power III Etale a +1 unholy longsword Enajien (unequipped?) a +3 chain shirt Selket (unequipped) 3 400gp onyxes Gridley Loot taken from Lord Morgan's body: a circlet of diplomacy Elan a wand unclaimed a wand unclaimed a wand unclaimed a potion (and an empty flask) marked "G" unclaimed 2 potions marked "T" unclaimed 4 potions marked "H" unclaimed Loot taken from Melestav's body: a hat of disguise unclaimed a pair of gloves unclaimed Loot taken from Castle Morgan: a magic rapier Nailo a magic greatsword Elan a magic sling Gridley a magic greataxe (with the word "flame" on it) unclaimed a magic heavy mace Gridley a magic leather armor (oily) unclaimed a magic chain shirt unclaimed a magic chain shirt unclaimed a magic half plate unclaimed a magic quiver Selket Nonmagical loot: three golden goblets a jeweled necklace -------------- People are free to play with the magic items (equip them, examine them, try to activate them) via email. I would like to note that Gridley and Selket are also eligible to use the Pearls of Power; the DMG says they're useful for "any spellcaster who prepares spells, including wizards, clerics, druids, rangers, and paladins." -------------- Lord Morgan's texts indicate that the following powerful undead rule areas of the island: In the north, Sargon rules the underground. Sargon is some sort of giant humanoid undead, perhaps an ogre mage lich - though he hasn't demonstrated as much power as a true lich would have. The King under the River (a kuo-toa, and definitely a lich) rules Diamond River. He was one of the Necromancer's most valued lieutenants during the Great War. Lord Morgan has apparently tried to open negotiations with him (so as to open the Diamond River for trade ships) but without success. Lady Caleria, originally some sort of nymph or dryad, rules Darkwood Glade. She sponsors several low-level vampires and vampire spawn who periodically conduct raids on the Argothian Forest. She seeks to convert that forest to undead as well, but has been encountering resistance. Tuknir, Sol'kanar, and (written into the margin in pencil) Himei maintain a presence near Necropolis. Lord Morgan's files don't list anything more about them; apparently he didn't consider them worthy of note since they don't control much actual territory. Lord Morgan rules the trade route to Blueport. Well, he used to, anyway. Mellar rules New Hope City. It's not clear what Mellar is since all interaction with him is through intermediaries, but most of his trusted lieutenants seem to be mohrgs. ------------- The next game is next Sunday, at noon this time, also in the CS lounge. Everyone has confirmed that they can make it. I'll send out a reminder on Friday.
