Abstract
What do we need to do to polish the write-up of our research papers?
Papers that are otherwise worth publishing,
often get rejected due to presentation pitfalls.
After about 1,000 rejections over the past 30+ years,
some patterns started to emerge.
In this talk, we discuss the three most important of these patterns,
their potential remedies, as well as a list of
an additional dozen of patterns and remedies.
Intended audience
This talk is mainly focusing on
researchers in Data Mining, Databases, Machine Learning, Data Science.
However, some of these 'lessons' may be useful
to researchers in the broader Computer Science field.
