A master of understatement. The new M5 also consistently follows the principle that "essence is more important than appearances". The pleasure of driving need not be flaunted. Just a few discrete features reveal the top-quality technology which characterizes this automobile. In keeping with the times, however, these identifying features are clearly fashioned and difficult to retrofit.

New M double spoke wheel in Chrome Shadow finish.
The exceptional character of the M5 is highlighted by unusually styled double spoke wheels, crafted in detail yet powerful in effect. the wheel arches have been expanded on the inside to take tire size 275/40 ZR 18.

M aerodynamic mirrors with fold function.
The new aerodynamic M exterior mirrors have a spherical, electro chrome glass inserts which automatically darken when there is a risk of dazzle. In order to reduce width when the vehicle is parked, they can be electrically folded in from the interior at the press of a switch.

Model designation at the side in the door capping strip and at the rear.
As is in keeping with tradition of M vehicles, the M insignia are inconspicuous and discrete.

High-gloss Satin Chrome
A new distinguishing feature are the side windows frames, B column panels and window shaft covers in black high-gloss finish.

Exhaust system with four tailpipes in polished stainless steel.
The four exhaust tailpipes give the M5 the characteristic M rear appearance.

New front apron with integrated fog lamps.
One of the most striking features distinguishing the M5 from other 5 Series models is the front apron. The base panel, designed according to the Venturi principle, reduces lift on the front axle by 50%.

Newly designed rear apron.
The visual volume of the rear apron has been slightly reduced compared to the 5 series. the large cut-out above the exhaust gives the design a very dynamic appearance and makes the M5 look powerful.

Kidney grille with wider decorative surround.
A further discrete indication of BMW M power: The kidney grille is distinguished by means of a chrome surround which is wider than that of the standard 5 Series version.

Rear spoiler
A discrete spoiler lip rounds off the perfect aerodynamic artistry off the M5. It reduces lift at the rear by 35%.

Interior

Luxury in its sportiest style.
The M5 provides almost everything that you can expect from a comfort saloon but it never denies its character when you get behind the wheel.
Two trim styles allow you to choose an interior ambience to suit your personal preferences.

Instruments with chrome surround, tachometer with variable warning field.
The classic BMW circular instruments have been reinterpreted. One complete new feature is the tacho meter with variable warning field.

M multifunction sports steering wheel.
In the M5, the well-know M sports steering wheel is used with some switches interrogated.

Automatic air-conditioning.
BMW automatic air-conditioning width separate temperature control for driver and passenger.

Interior lighting package with illuminated gear lever.
As standard: the interior lighting package, including automatic dip function in the interior mirror.

Eight standard airbags
Every M5 has a front-, thorax- and ITS airbag installed. this provides optimum protection for all occupants in any type of impact.

High-quality door sills, with M5 emblem.
Even if the model designation is omitted on the outside - when you open the doors, the M5 reveals its identity.

New M sports seats, electrically adjustable with memory, heatable.
The new saloon sports seats - with distinctly sporty design in both shape and touch.

Exclusive trim
The comfort-oriented interior trim comprises the especially soft Nappa leather, combined with interior panels in Bruyère Club or burr walnut and high-gloss chrome interior fittings.

Sportive trim
With this trim variation; the upholsteries are available either in a combination alcantara/fabric and seat side sections incl. seatback in Nappa leather.
