- Hanenkamm Race
- (2/29/00) Around 100,000 fans on the slopes and a television audience of more than 500 million followed the live action at this year's Hahnenkamm race. The weekend of ski excitement opened on Friday with the Super-G, followed by the Downhill on Saturday, with the Slalom on Sunday as the closing event.
- BMW Gold and Tennis Cup International
- Eight hundred thousand amateur tennis and golf players from around the world have taken part in the annual BMW Gold and Tennis Cup International since its inception. Only the very best, however, have experienced the thrill of leaving the 18th hole or the centre court as winner of the world finals. This year the finals of the world's biggest amateur tournament were held on Tenerife, where 116 sportsmen and women from 27 countries competed for the prized trophy.
