Rocky Horror Pictures

During my tenure at Brandeis University, the students tried to perform The Rocky Horror Picture Show every semester. They were 7 for 8 during my time there. I performed three times, during the fall of 1993, fall of 1994, and spring of 1995. I played the part of Rocky, which basically meant I ran around in gold lamé underwear for 2 hours. I’m still not entirely sure why I did this—although, it seemed like a good idea at the time—because I really don’t like the movie, and I was only hit on by one coed because of playing Rocky. So you ask, why am I putting this up? Well, I was forced to do so by my peers at CMU because they didn’t believe me.

Here’s a picture from October 1993, the first time I was Rocky. We had absolutely no practice, and I had no idea what the hell I was doing, which is why I am looking at the screen. Check out the toilet paper bandages…

This is group shot from the second time I performed as Rocky, in October 1994. We actually practiced this time, and I think we did really well. But the table we were using as the tank/table/bed/all purpose prop was too short, and I cut my leg when I flipped over during “Toucha Toucha Touch Me.” We had a woman playing Frankenfurter, which I found to be a very good thing.

The redhead in the middle is my friend Jennifer Thompson.

Here is where Frankenfurter is chasing me around after I’ve been given life, but before Meat Loaf gets the axe.

This performance was during a theme weeking on campus. The school newspaper The Justice had a photo spread on the weekend that included pictures of the performance. I’m still pissed because they ran pictures featuring everyone except for me!

May 1995

Me as Rocky; group shot of cast.

Group shot from the third and final time I played Rocky. The “red-eye” adds a nice effect to this picture.

My friend Jennifer is on the far left, and my friend Matt Pius is standing up in the back (with the red tie).
