- The team with the best vision system got the most points. (Camera can look anywhere and re-center quickly using servos)
Critical Failures
- Ground clearance
- Not being able to get up steps.
- People should not be afraid to rebuild their robots multiple times.
- Time limit (slow vs. power)
- Ramp in the world was much harder to climb than the ideal testing ramp.
- Not knowing when the camera was centered (so sometimes, robot was not
driving straight).
- Adding features to the original design is not always advantageous.
- Vision in 3D space
- Simple robots actually did better than complex robot
Suggestions for Improvement
- Bad lighting conditions prevented robot from performing to its full
potential
- Styrofoam is not good floor material (wood may be better)
- Flashlights were too weak, hard to recognize people.
