Are you curious about how cybersecurity research is transitioned out of academia to have impact in the real world? One path is through the formation of startup companies. This kickoff workshop of the Cybersecurity Commercialization Workshop Series will give CMU researchers an opportunity to hear from founders and leaders who have launched companies about their motivations, experiences and lessons learned. Also a panel of investors will discuss current investment trends in cybersecurity, how they evaluate investment opportunities, and how to best engage with investors.

The workshop will include panel discussions from security startups and investors including:

  • Founders: Anne Bonaparte, Alex Rebert, Norman Sadeh, Marios Savvides / Peter Finley (Moderator)
  • Funders: David Dorsey, John Funge, Zach Malone, Chenxi Wang / Dave Mawhinney (Moderator)
