This series introduces the SCS community to some of its newest faculty members. This week, you'll learn more about new faculty Alexandra Ion and David Lindlbauer, their research, and have the opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A portion, moderated by Scott Hudson.
► Scott Hudson, Professor, Human-Computer Interaction Institute
► Alexandra Ion, Assistant Professor @Human-Computer Interaction Institute
— Alexandra leads the Interactive Structures Lab, where they investigate and develop interactive design tools that enable digital fabrication of complex structures for novice users. Their research and expertise lie at the intersection of human-computer interaction, digital fabrication, metamaterials and computational design.
► David Lindlbauer, Assistant Professor, Human-Computer Interaction Institute
— David's research focuses on understanding how humans perceive and interact with digital information, and to build technology that goes beyond the flat displays of PCs and smartphones to advances our capabilities when interacting with the digital world. To achieve this, he creates and studies enabling technologies and computational approaches that control when, where, and how virtual content is displayed to increase the usability of AR and VR interfaces.
