GETTING STARTED
- (1) Roll down projection screen and turn on speaker amplifier (if using
audio) with ivory-colored wall switches next to screen space.
- (2) Turn off regular room lights and turn on can lights. (These
are
controlled by dimmers with push buttons in 5409A and 5409B and with
regular light switches in 4623 and 4625. In the Wean 7500 Adamson
Auditorium, three slide dimmers on the side wall enable you to dim
some or all of the fluorescent fixtures in the ceiling of that
large space.)
TO USE COMPUTER IN PODIUM
- (3) Power up PC on lower shelf and flat panel display on top surface.
You have to push the display's power button (on right) for a few
seconds until the small pilot light next to it comes on. After
powering up, pull the built-in keyboard out of its storage slot,
position it for comfort, and log in using the account name and
password written on the sticker on top of the PC.
- (4) Turn on video projector by aiming small remote control at unit and
pressing power switch.
- (5) Press O.S.D. button on remote until RGB1
appears in top-right
corner of image. You should now see image from podium PC on both
the wall screen and the flat panel display.
TO ADJUST PROJECTOR
- (6) push menu button on
remote.
- (7) Use <- -> button to move through menu options.
- (8) Press set button when you get to desired
function or parameter.
- (9) Repeat steps #7 and #8 to move through any sub-menus.
- (10) Use <- -> button to make adjustment and then
press set again
to confirm that adjustment.
- (11) Use menu button to return to previous menus or
to back out of wrong selections.
TO USE LAPTOP COMPUTER
- (12) plug black VGA cable and red audio cord
(both marked "2") into back of laptop. Use VGA-to-MAC
adapter cable (on table top) if using a Powerbook or other Mac
product.
- (13) Turn on laptop and set its display mode to a resolution of
832 x 624 pixels or less and its scan rate to 68 or less.
- (14) Turn on video projector by aiming small remote control at unit
and pressing power switch.
- (15) Press O.S.D. button on remote until RGB2
appears in top-right
corner of image. You should now see image from your laptop
projected on screen.
- (16) To adjust projector, go to steps #6 thru #11.
TO USE VCR
- (17) power up that unit, deploy the projection
screen and turn on the amplified speakers (see step #1), dim the
room lights (see step #2), and turn on the video projector
(see steps #4 and #5).
- (18) Press O.S.D button until V appears in upper
right corner of image.
- (19) Insert tape in VCR and use that unit's remote to control VCR
functions.
- (20) Go to steps #6 thru #11 if you need to adjust the projector.
TO USE VISUALIZER
- (21) turn on projector with remote control and visualizer with power
switch in left-rear corner of unit. (Visualizer is mounted in a
hidden drawer on the right side of the podium. Drawer is push-to-open.
Pull it all the way out until spring latch engages.)
- (22) Raise camera and lighting arms on visualizer. (Press release
button when doing this.)
- (23) Press O.S.D. button on remote until V S
appears in screen corner.
- (24) Place document, object or transparency to be projected on
visualizer's stage.
- (25) If projecting paper documents or 3-D objects, press upper
lighting,
internal source, positive image, and
auto-focus buttons on visualizer.
- (26) If projecting standard transparencies, press base lighting,
internal source, negative image, and auto-focus buttons on visualizer.
- (27) Adjust image scope and size with zoom controls on
visualizer.
- (28) Go to steps #6 thru #11 if you need to adjust the projector.
TO PROJECT SAME IMAGE IN BOTH HALVES OF 5409 SIMULTANEOUSLY
- (29) go to the 5409B podium and turn on its VCR, visualizer or PC,
or connect your laptop there.
- (30) Roll down both projection screens and turn on the amplified
speaker on 5409B side only (if using audio) with ivory-colored
wall switches next to screen spaces.
- (31) Turn off regular room lights and turn on can lights
in both halves of 5409.
- (32) Aim remote at ceiling projector on 5409B side, turn projector on
and choose signal source (i.e. RGB1 for podium PC, RGB2 for your
laptop, V for VCR, or V S for visualizer).
- (33) Now aim remote at round, black infrared sensor protruding from
ceiling tile above front-center of room. (This sensor controls
the "slave" projector in 5409A, which shares inputs with the one
in 5409B.)
- (34) Turn slave projector on and choose same signal source as you did
for the projector in 5409B.
- (35) Go to steps #6 thru #11 if you need to adjust the projectors,
aiming the remote at either the 5409B projector or the black
sensor in the ceiling for the 5409A slave projector.
