Nagel, III came recommended by the Guide to Living in Pittsburgh when I got here, and I have had good work done by him. But this year, when I needed an extraction and bridge, he quoted $1200. Part of this was probably that he refers his extractions to a clinic. Anyway, my family's dentist in Washington, D. C. claims this would come to $800 tops with him, so I commute for it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Nagel; it might have paid off in mental anguish alone to have the extraction done under general anesthesia, as his clinic would have done. But if you're tight on bucks, it can pay to shop around for the big ones.
