Mission of Gravity
by Hal Clement
Review by Bill Johnston

Mission of Gravity by Hal Clement is a very hard sf novel about a heavy gravity planet. It is told mostly from then viewpoint of the native sailor who finds an Earthman. I liked it, but don't let that encourage you. If you don't like hard sf don't read it. Even if you do, you may find it gets too bogged down with the technical details of the world. It is obviously a precursor to Dragon's Egg by Robert L. Forward, and is a better done book.
