The Access Fund is:

Purchasing land parcels and property tracts to ensure access to climbing areas
Effectively representing climbers' interests in negotiations with land managers on management plans and policies
Utilizing our national network of climber-attorneys to negotiate access agreements and resolve liability concerns with private landowners
Supported by over 70 outdoor companies including our Platinum Benefactors: Petzl/PMI, Black Diamond, Wild Country, Boreal, Bluewater, REI, Climbing and Rock and Ice magazines

Promoting minimum-impact climbing by publishing educational brochures and funding scientific studies
Committed to paying for much-needed facilities such as trails, toilets, signage and parking on federal, state and local lands
Cooperating with land managers on the protection of wilderness values and sensitive wildlife and plant species

Supported by thousands of climbers who donate crucial funding, volunteer their time, attend Access Fund events, and participate in cleanups and trail building
Responsible for funding the development of local climbers' organizations
Made up of a diverse 23-memeber board of directors that represents all factions of the climbing community, supported by a full-time staff of five and our National Advisory Council
