Access Notes - Vol. 7 Summer 1994

Volunteer Spotlight

The support and hard work of hundreds of volunteers are the keys to the Access Fund successes. From our dedicated board members and regional coordinators to trail builders and competition belayers--they make it happen! Within the volunteer ranks, the contributions of several people were totally outstanding! We salute:

Elden Altizer of Seattle, Washington Elden recently organized the Jon Waterman video benefit for Denali. He's orchestrated mailings, kept tabs on the National Park Service policies regarding Denali and served as regional coordinator for the Washington region for several years.

Don Swendson of Boulder, Colorado Don has put in countless hours mailing membership premiums and stuffing envelopes as well as volunteering for special events. We haven't seen much of Don since the birth of his third child; his good humor is missed around the office.

Mike Brown of Spring Valley, California At the JT Rendezvous, Mike was responsible for all the signs withstanding the wind and rain. He coordinated the Access Fund booth at the Adventure 16 Swap Meet in San Diego as well as the cleanup project at the Santee Boulders on June 4, National Trails Day.
