We will begin with a few PVM programming topics, including some more complex libpvm functions and the tasker, hoster and resource manager interfaces. Jim Pruyne from Madison will make a guest appearance to discuss resource managers.
Next, we will cover the design and implementation of PVM. A road map to the source will be presented and important parts of libpvm and the pvmd will be highlighted. Differences between the socket, shared memory and message-passing PVM versions will also be explained.
Finally, work in progress toward PVM version 3.4 will be presented.
