Sonal Nanda : Constellation Lamp

This lamp was constructed to look like a rocket. It was made with 16 laser-cut pieces of wood. Using Adobe Illustrator, a constellation map was recreated and cut from the top piece of the lamp, measured to be only about an inch and a half in diameter. With the proper lighting, the lamp is capable of projecting that design above it. Also, it is possible to remove the light bulb from the lamp using a simple lock and key design. The base piece has a small North Star cut into it. If you turn the piece the light bulb is sitting within in so that the North Star is facing south (compared to the constellation's design), the piece can be removed.
