You might try a search engine; I know this is difficult from CIS
but Lycos had over 80 articles on PMTs. Here's one:

Linkname: Optics - detectors - PMT
        URL: http://www.chem.vt.edu/Physics/optics/detectors-PMT.html

To access an http from CompuServe, use a mail server:
mail destination: INTERNET:agora@mail.w3.org
subject: doesn't matter
message:
send http://www.chem.vt.edu/Physics/optics/detectors-PMT.html

Of course if you don't know how big the message is you could quickly
exceed the $9 allowance CIS gives you against 2,500 characters per $.05
so be careful.

Anyway you get back the text and a summary of all sublinks. Supposedly
you can put an X in column 1 of any line with [] on it and mail it
back to agora and it will return the link.
