Hi

When minifying an image the application of a low-pass-filter before
actually resizing the image gives better results for the compressed
image than minifying without.

I'm doing this for some years now, but I've never stumbled over a study,
paper or anything else with theoretical background on that topic.

Can you give me some pointers to the appropriate literature ?

Thanks in advance,

Karlheinz Knipp
