Hi. My name is Neil Acantilado and I work for the Naval Research Lab located in
San Diego. I am currently working on a 3-D Volumetric Display System which has
the capability of showing "true" 3-D (as opposed to rendering a 3-D image on a
2-D screen). Anyway, we are investigating the possibility of displaying medical
data images (MRI, CAT, Ultrasound, etc.) on our display. We can already show
live air traffic control data on our system.

Does anybody out there have any authentic 3-D processed image data in the format
of (x, y, z) coordinates? or Does anybody know of any image processing
algorithms that can take 2-D image slices (maybe obtained from MRI, CAT, Nuclear
Medicine data) and convert them into 3-D data (i.e., a file that is made up of
(x, y, z) coordinates)?

Any replies, suggestions, or interests will be greatly appreciated. My email
address is nacantil.nosc.mil.

					Thanx,
					Neil
