I am in need of a real-time image processing system.
Preferred configuration is a stand-alone UNIX/VME
station or PC as a host for 3rd party imaging hardware.

Is there a better way ?

The ops that I am interested in are:

1. Frame grabbing/digitization/display
2. thresholding/segmentation
3. edge point identification from a binary image
4. region/blob labelling and analysis
5. convolution with a CUSTOM/variable kernel(mask)
   to support stereoscopic imaging

I have C code developed on a SUN-Sparc1 to do most of this.
Cross compiling
and downloading to a DSP board or set would be preferable.
Any better ideas?

I need to perform ALL of these operations in sequence to
perform object detection in real time! Possibly x2 for
stereo processing. ANY REFERENCES, CONTACTS, or info
would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, has anyone had experience w/the following vendors:

1. Analogic Corp
2. Applied Silicon
3. Coreco
4. Data Translation
5. Datacube
6. Imaging Technologies
7. Matrox
8. Spectrum Signal Processing
9. Mercury DSP

I am in the process of contacting each of these vendors and
It would help if I could contact anyone who has dealt with any
of these vendors.

Unfortunately, I need a VERY quick response... < 1 week
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
