IMMEDIATE OPENINGS IN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS

Johnson Controls, Inc., a Fortune 200 company, has declared the
management of knowledge assets as a critical strategic issue for its
future. It is increasing its investment in knowledge based systems
technology. They are looking to hire a team leader to lead a
knowledge based systems research effort in the Controls Group R&D
department. They are looking to capture, represent, manage, and
deploy their building systems knowledge to enhance their service and
product offerings and create new offerings to better serve their
customers. They are also looking for hands-on knowledge engineers
to join their knowledge program.

Johnson Controls, Inc. Controls Group, headquartered in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, is a global market leader in non-residential building
control systems. Their industry-leading Metasys facility management
system integrates lighting, fire, and security systems and takes
advantage of the latest developments in intelligent building
technology. The Controls Group is also the largest provider of
integrated facility management services in the world. Johnson
Controls employees are on site, working full time at hundreds of
customer buildings around the world, to simultaneously improve
facility performance and indoor environments while reducing
operating costs.

The job candidates should have B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degrees in
engineering or computer science, with a concentration in knowledge
based systems. The candidate should also have experience in
successfully building and deploying knowledge based systems in
industry. The knowledge based systems R&D effort will work closely
with, and integrate with ongoing development of knowledge based
systems and infrastructure to support developing these systems, as
well as R&D efforts in advanced controls systems, computer based
models of building systems, and quality building environments.

The Controls Group is located just a few blocks from the Milwaukee
waterfront on the west coast of Lake Michigan. This is one of the
most publicly accessible waterfronts of any major city. Miles of
public beaches, marinas, community boating, and summer festival
grounds. There are a wide range of fine and performing arts venues,
major sports franchises, three major universities, and access to the
great outdoors of Wisconsin.
