A successful candidate will have strong communication skills and independent problem-solving ability. Responsibilities include: 1) enhancing the current fielded system. This involves adding functionality desired by end-users as well as bug-fixing and tuning. 2) participating in the design and implementation of follow-on systems that work in new-technology networks. These systems will have to rely heavily on AI and machine learning. 3) customer interactions from specification and design to end-user support to maintain 7/24 network operations. The candidate will work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment and directly contribute to a world-class, world-wide network management platform handling all of GTE's corporate and customer networks. Occasional travel to GTE sites will be required. Education/Experience MS/PhD in Computer Science with strong AI component. At least 5 years experience in AI development required, Machine Learning and Expert Systems background preferred. Need significant AI programming skills. ART-IM/CLIPS experience very positive, TCL, C/C++ Informix/SQL knowledge desirable. Software experience in a telecommunications domain is highly desirable.
