SYRACUSE LANGUAGE SYSTEMS,  SPEECH TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT


We have full-time positions available in the following two areas:

-  Natural Language Processing
-  Speech Processing

The positions in NLP are for research and development of tools for
text processing, dialog modelling and understanding, and grammar 
verification.  The positions in speech processing are for development
of techniques and algorithms for pronunciation training, speech
recognition, and work with speech APIs from independent vendors.

The positions require M.S. or Ph.D. degrees, familiarity with the 
theory and tools of computational linguistics and/or speech processing, 
good programming skills (C++, prolog), and interest in carrying research 
and design ideas to implemented applications.  Experience in development 
for MS Windows is a plus.

The positions may be permanent or temporary, for 1 to 2 years,
depending on interests.

Syracuse Language Systems is an educational software publisher of
language instruction titles in seven languages, including English,
Spanish, German, French, and Japanese.  The company is located in 
Syracuse, upstate New York.
