: Hmmm - do you know this for a fact? I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I
: don't recall the Flyer having component output. I know from experience that
: the PAR's output looks noticeably better in component than y/c and especially
: composite. NewTek plays fast and loose with terminology. Most D2 recorders
: (all?) have component outputs. I may be wrong about the Flyer not having
: this, so please correct me if I am.

The Flyer has composite out only, because at present it must work
through the Toaster. NewTek has plans for y/c in and out and hopefully
component. Third party developers are more than likely working on a plug
in device to grab the video before it goes from "D2" (Newtek's version
whatever that is) to analog. So digital video out is a possibility in the
future, in what format I don't know. Right now the Flyer digitizes in
Beta SP quality for most scenes. Very wide shots with a lot of detail
drops down to slightly better than SVHS. Still a lot of bang for the
buck if you already have an A4000 and an Amiga. If you don't, I'd wait
awhile 'till the bugs get worked out. Trust me on this I'm a beta tester
with Version 3.9 "4". Alyn
