Here's one;

   a Master's Thesis from the University of Idaho;

   "Real Time Size Distribution Identification by Use of Fourier Transforms and
    Neural Networks Applied to Photo Images"

   Barron, Chris. L.  1993.
My topic of interest is the Size Distribution (of Rocks) aspect rather than Neural
Nets per se. Anything that you come across that may be of use to my area of
interst I would appreciate knowing about.
