New Fuzzy-PC Board

Togai InfraLogic's Fuzzy-PC Accelerator Board gives the user the ability to
take full advantage of the FC110 Digital Fuzzy Processor (DFP) while
maintaining flexibility to allow for a wide variety of applications. The
Fuzzy-PC is the new enhanced release that replaces TIL's AT Board product.

The FC110 DFP has an architecture optimized for real-time fuzzy logic
applications. Combining a state-of-the-art reduced instruction set and
pipelined fetch/execute cycle operation, the DFP achieves speeds typically an
order of magnitude faster than modern super-microcomputers when applied to
fuzzy reasoning. The DFP can also support a large external knowledge
base, making it powerful enough for complex fuzzy controlled systems. All
this, along with a variety of addressing modes provide for very efficient
operation.

The FC110 supports knowledge bases with up to 128K bytes of rule base and
membership function information, permitting more than 800 rules. The fuzzy
rule format may have a variable number of IF and THEN statements and the
membership functions may have as many as 256 elements with 8 bits of resolution.

The Fuzzy-PC Board provides the user with a complete 8-in, 4-out
analog-to-digital, digital-to-analog section. Both the D/A and A/D converters
have 8-bit resolution and conversion times suitable for relatively high
bandwidth control systems. For added convenience, the user may select between
a 2.5 volt and a 5 volt analog I/O range.

Besides the A/D, D/A section, this board also provides a peripheral bus
extension connector for auxiliary add-on digital devices. Additional features
include automatic address increment, jumper-selectable FC110-sourced host
interrupts, and FC110 reset, all controlled by software. Major features are:

o On-board 20 MHz FC110 fuzzy processor
o 220,000 fuzzy rule evaluations/second
o 8 Input channels of 8-bit ADC, 2.5S/channel
o 4 Output channels of 8-bit DAC, 4S/channel settling time
o Host access to all 256 bytes of FC110 SRAM
o Host or FC110 access to peripherals
o 128K bytes of knowledge base RAM
o Bus extension for auxiliary add-on peripherals
o Fits 8-bit ISA slots, improving compatibility
o Uses only 4 I/O ports, DIP switch selectable
o Host IRQ2-7 from FC110, jumper selectable
o Software enable/disable of interrupts, FC110 reset
o Automatic address increment for fast knowledge base (KB) load
o Jumper selectable 2.5 or 5V analog I/O range

Using the FC110 Development System, which accepts a subset of FPL, TIL's Fuzzy
Programming Language, fuzzy logic knowledge bases can be compiled for this
board. TIL's TILShell MS-Windows-based software development environment
interfaces directly with the FC110 Development System.
