Introduction

The Ontology Works UML Editor is a way to describe ontologies using the modeling formalisms of UML.

The UML editor uses a novel interface called a "zooming" interface.  Instead of bringing up dialogue boxes to view details of the objects on the screen, you zoom into them, just as if you were holding a sheet of paper.  You zoom by holding the right mouse button and moving it to the right to zoom in, and left to zoom out.

Rather than the traditional scroll bars, we use a metaphor of grabbing the sheet.  You grab the sheet with the left mouse button, and dragging the sheet to see the parts that you can't currently see.

If you get lost, use Edit Home to go to an overview of everything currently on the sheet.
