Translating Documents

Translating an entire document

Although you can translate a checked or unchecked XML document using CLTreeView, you will have much more success if you only translate checked and resolved documents. Remember that, in KCE AMT, checking documents and resolving sentence issues are prerequisites for successful translations. Also keep in mind that, as with its checking, CLTreeView depends on servers to support its translating function. You must be connected to an appropriate target language server in order to translate documents into that language. See Configuring Servers for more information and instructions.

In order to translate all sentences in the document, follow these steps:

  1. Check the document for KCE validity, and resolve issues in sentences that do not pass.
  2. Check your server configuration in order to verify or select the target language for the translation.
  3. Select Translate>Translate Document. A popup window appears, displaying the progress of the translation. Any sentences, words, or phrases that are not valid according to KCE are not translated.

When the translation is finished, the Tree View window displays each sentence of the document as it has been translated into the target language. Any sentences, words, or phrases that are not valid according to KCE are not translated. Sentences that contain issues appear in red.
