Saving Documents
Overwriting the current document
In order to save a document by overwriting its previous version, follow these steps:
- Select File>Save. The current document is saved, overwriting its previous version. If there are errors in the XML structure, CLTreeView will not allow you to save. See Errors below.
Saving as a separate document
In order to save a document in a separate file, maintaining its source file, follow these steps:
- Select File>Save As. A popup window prompts you for a filename, displaying the current filename as a default. If there are errors in the XML structure, CLTreeView will not allow you to save. See Errors below.
- Enter a filename.
- Choose an appropriate directory for the file.
- Click Save. The current document is saved in the file and directory you chose.
If you have made changes that undermine the XML integrity of the document, CLTreeView will not save the document, and will present this message:
Once you correct the problem, you can save the document.
