Resolving Issues

CLTreeView provides diagnostics for all sentence issues. In some cases, CLTreeView offers an automatic fix option. Follow these steps in order to view the diagnostic for a sentence issue and to resolve the issue so that a problem sentence will pass. See Diagnostics a catalog of CLTreeView diagnostics. Select Help>KCE User's Guide for detailed explanations and examples of KCE style and usage.

  1. Place the cursor within the problem string, which will be highlighted in the Text Editor.

  2. Select Check>Disambiguate. A popup window appears with a diagnosis of the problem, and in many cases, an automatic fix option. This example offers an automatic fix. (Note that you can also click the "?" button in the toolbar to accomplish this step.)

  3. Edit the sentence in the Text Editor using the diagnostics or the automatic fix from the popup window. If you clicked the Fix Sentence button, verify that the sentence is correct. See Diagnostics for a catalog of CLTreeView diagnostics. Select Help>KCE User's Guide for detailed explanations and examples of KCE style and usage.
  4. Place the cursor within the sentence in the Text Editor window.

  5. Select Check>Check Sentence to see if your edit has solved the problem. Remember that black sentences have been checked and have passed. In this example, the ambiguous phrase "transfer unit" remains in the sentence and we must resolve this issue before the sentence will pass.
