Diagnostics with the Automatic Fix Option

Below are the diagnostics that provide you with an automatic fix option. The left column lists the name of the diagnostic as it appears in the AMT grammar. The middle column shows an example of one of the messages you could see when using CLTreeView, depending on the particular problem in a sentence. The right column describes capabilities of CLTreeView for automatically fixing the sentence:

IMPROPER_PUNC Do not end this phrase with a period.CLC automatically removes and/or replaces punctuation.
MISSING_DET 'WORD' might require an article.CLC automatically inserts the.
IN_ORDER_TO Try using 'in order to' instead of 'to' here.CLC automatically inserts in order before to.
MISSING_PUNC If this is a sentence, it requires a final period.CLC automatically adds necessary punctuation.

Here are the diagnostics that provide you with only a diagnosis message. For problem sentences like these, the you should use the diagnosis message to guide his or her manual revision. The left column lists the name of the diagnostic as it appears in the AMT grammar. The right column shows an example of one of the messages you could see when using CLTreeView, depending on the particular problem in your sentence:

COORDINATED_ADJ ADJ1 and ADJ2 should not be joined by a conjunction.
ELIDED_NP Try using an object after 'WORD'.
IMPROPER_ING Do not use 'WORD+ing' immediately after a noun.
LIKE Do not use 'like' with a noun. Try 'as' or 'such as'.
MISSING_NP 'WORD' is not in the dictionary.
PARENS Don't interrupt a noun phrase with parentheses.
WHEN_VING Try using a subject before VING.
