There are two or three position openings in the InfoSleuth Project at MCC.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The InfoSleuth Project involves the use of agent and database technology to
support information management, discovery, and analysis in a dynamically
changing environment that can include Internet-accessible data as well as
enterprise-wide heterogenous information sources.   Project research areas
include: 
 * Heterogeneous databases (querying, resolution of heterogeneity) 
 * The use of cooperating, adaptive, and autonomous agents for information
   access, and the use of supporting technologies such as KQML, Java, etc.
 * The generation and use of workflows/nomadic transactions for information
   management and discovery.  


REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must have a background in distributed systems, and either a
background in multi-database systems; or AI, with an emphasis on DAI,
agent architectures, and planning.

Candidates must hold a PhD, or MS with a minimum of two years relevant
experience.  They must have good programming skills (implementation of
prototypes will be required); and good communications skills (both oral and
written).  Unix background required.  Experience with C++, Java, and KQML
preferred.
