Starshine Too (Starshine 2)

2001/12/21 18:19 EST

I was able to see 3 flashes of Starshine Too from Squirrel Hill.

With prediction from HeavensAbove, I went to the backyard and looked up -- there was absolutely nothing! Sky was clear but the satellite must be quite faint. Then at around 18:19, I noticed a short yellow flash between Cassiopea and Cepheus. The flash was not too bright -- maybe mag. 1; it was very short too, kind of like those flashlights on airplanes. Then after a while (from 10 to 30 seconds), I observed another flash in Triangulum, then a few seconds later a third one in Aries.

Since these flashes were on the predicted path and at the correct time, I assume they were from Starshine Too. But I just couldn't see the satellite itself. I took out my binoculars but didn't use them (don't know where to aim :-)
