Circumhorizon arcs are much rarer than circumzenith arcs. They are colorful horizontal 'lines' above horizon when the sun is high.

2005/7/12 12:10 EDT. With the clouds of Hurricane Dennis, I captured a somewhat colorful circumhorizon arc above horizon and a 22-degree halo. Nikon coolpix 995 camera. Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

2004/5/27 Circumhorizon arc from the air. On a flight from California to Texas. The sun is high above the window. There is a strong 22 degree halo which is partially visible in the photo. Below the 22° halo and just above the horizon is this colorful band of circumhorizon arc. Nikon Coolpix 995 camera.
