My research is to support more people learn in effective ways. To achieve this goal, I conduct two types of research activities.
1) I study the cognitive processes behind human problem solving and learning. 2) Based on the insights, I develop computational methods and systems to support scalable teaching and learning.
I evaluate such techniques in authentic learning environments.

I'll be joining Michigan CSE as an Assistant Professor starting from Jan 2021.

Xu Wang is a PhD candidate in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Dr. Ken Koedinger and Dr. Carolyn Rose. She conducts interdisciplinary research within the fields of Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence and Education. Before coming to CMU, she received a Masters in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s in Science from Beijing Normal University. She has also worked in the User Interface Research Group at Autodesk Research.
