Recent Academic Experiences:

    • Customer specified personal management database project: 1996

    • Using relational database to design, evaluate, implement and test a PC database application which provides particular personal management functionalities through user required GUI.

Key words: Relational Database, Access, SQL, Visual Basic

    • Geographic Information System based applications: 1996

    • GIS based applications for earth coordinate and category devided human resource analysis on financial status, race distribution, school accessibility and many other related social issues.

Key words: Relational Database, SQL, Geographic Information System, CAD system

    • Planner upgrade for Shape Deposition Manufacturing in CMU: 1996-1997

    • Manufacturing plan generator upgrading for Shape Deposition Manufacturing in CMU. Using specific manufacturing knowledge database and geometric modeling kernel to generate optimized SDM manufacturing plans for desired artifacts.

Key words: C++, Geometric Modeling, Relational Database

    • SDM simulator for Shape Deposition Manufacturing: 1996-1997

    • UNIX and PC platform simulation program which verifies manufacturing plan in intended trajection plan, tool movement, collision detection, etc., previous to the plan implementation for Shape Deposition Manufacturing (which is a physical prototyping technique developed in CMU).

Key words: UNIX, C, C++, Geometric Modeling, OpenGL, GLUT, PC Window programming

    • Expert System in optimized tool selection for Shape Deposition Manufacturing: 1996

    • Developed an expert system using CLIPS for SDM cutting tool selection based on manufacturing specifications and regulations and expert knowledge from experienced workers.

      Key words: Expert System, CLIPS

    •  Rapid Design Through Virtual and Physical Prototyping: 1997-now

    • Developed A PC-based window program which supports early CAD design of engineered systems through three dimensional interactive simulation. Focus on realtime virtual prototyping of property assignable 3D objects under force and movement constraints. Designers are able to create or change behavior constraints to set up different engineered systems for CAD models to abtain virtual behavior simulation of a 3D system.

Key words: MFC, ACIS geometric modeling, OpenGL, CORIOLIS kinematic and dynamic kernel
