Professor Arora's research centers around the areas of economics of
technological change, management of technology, intellectual property
rights, and technology licensing. He has in the past worked on questions
of the productivity of university research, and the growth and development
of biotechnology and the chemical industry. He is currently the Research
Director of the newly created Software Center, and specifically, is
studying the development of the Indian software industry and its links
to the US. An enduring research interest is in understanding the rise
and functioning of markets for technology and their consequences.
