Through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Technology Alliance (PITA), Susan Finger and Chris Paredis have received funding to support rapid prototyping equipment in ICES. This equipment consists of a 3D Genisys printer by Stratasys (FDM technology) and a 4-axis CNC-mill by Benchman.
This equipment will be housed in room 2211 of Hamburg Hall and for a minimal fee (approximately the cost of materials), anybody in the ICES community is welcome to use these machines. However, room 2211 will not be treated as a public room. Specific arrangements for access to the room will be made for each case. If the equipment is to be used for a class, then a key to room 2211 will be given to the professor of that class.
If the equipment is used for
educational purposes, there is no fee for use of the machines or the materials.
