In the beginning of October 1998, I approached the newsgroup (rec.games.miniatures.misc) with the rough draft of my reference pages. I announced my intention to try and create the definitive reference source for out of production miniatures (focusing on the 1980's). I also asked that anyone who was interested in helping with such a project contact me.
Well, the amount of replies was amazing! I was sent offers to do scanning, compile item lists, and photocopy catalogs, but even better, I was able to hook up with others with similar ideas in mind.
