are equivalent to that of the RMN Prince Consort class CA. The broadside and chase grasers are furnished with the same superconducting accumulators as used by the Shrike-class Type 3 PCL, with four accumulators per weapon mount. Each accumulator stores sufficient energy to allow the 150cm chase graser to fire once or the 60cm broadside graser to fire six times before its charge is exhausted. The Ellen D’Orville class mounts two fusion plants to provide power to the energy weapons in combat and meet the increased energy requirements of high-speed combat maneuvering and shielding, and to provide the high “burst” power required to allow transit to hyperspace. The class also mounts two small fission plants (identical to Shrike-class PCL plant) to provide power for normal-space non-combat cruising. Maximum acceleration with power from the fission plants alone is limited to 516G. |
