A MEASUREMENT OF EMOTIONAL CONTENT IN SPEECH AND ITS APPLICATION TO CYBER COMMERCE

ABSTRACT

In this study, assuming the case in which the net user can access to the virtual shop and buy goods through browser interface, we propose the system which enables him/her to retrieve more desirable goods fater and more effectively, which provides emotional interaction between the shop and the user. The shopping server observes the user's utterance aimed to the goods image and evaluates the emotional content for the speech parameters. It is made use of in order to determine the next candidate set of goods, and at the same time, the interface provides bimodal (audio / visual) interface response to the user reflecting user's emotion. This evaluation mechanism can be expected to provide more efficient goods retrieval service. In this paper, the emotion evaluation module is proposed, and the examination results of the experiment in which the image retrieval algorithm with this evaluation mechanism is tested is shown.
