To build a full-fletched 3D map, our previously developed mapping algorithms were used in real time to extract a 3D shape model of the environment from the laser data. New is a technique for mapping texture to this model. The resulting data file is in VRML format, which makes it possible to synthesize arbitrary views. Notice that all these views are synthetic. They have been constructed from hundreds or thousands of individual images. Click on image to enlarge.
