Notes
This is the HTML version of my senior thesis at Harvard. It didn't
take very long to convert into HTML, since I wrote my thesis on MS
Word 7.0, and the MS Internet Assistant v2.0z did a good
job of converting it into HTML automatically. The only major glitch
was that IA didn't convert the footnotes, so they are currently
missing from this version. Perhaps I'll type them in manually some
day, but don't hold your breath waiting for them to appear. Also, be
aware that there will probably be a number of formatting errors that I
just haven't caught and corrected yet. Finally, some of the color
photo figures are missing, because I haven't yet had the time to scan
them in.
