- (2/25) Quiz 6 on Tues 2/26 will cover readings from week 6, the video Triumph of the Nerds (2 of 2), and class discussion. This includes questions about programming languages (see slides posted online) and your notes from class.
- (2/21) The term paper is due Thurs Feb 21. You need to hand in a paper copy in class with a title page, and an electronic version on Blackboard without identification for TurnItIn.
- (2/18) Quiz 5 on Tues 2/19 will cover readings from week 5, the video Triumph of the Nerds (1 of 2), and class discussion.
- (2/14) The draft of the term paper is due Thurs Feb 14 in class.
- (2/11) Quiz 4 on Tues 2/12 will cover readings from week 4, the video The Machine That Changed The World (Part 2), and class discussion.
- (2/4) Quiz 3 on Tues 2/5 will cover readings from week 3, part 2 of the video Computer Pioneers and Pioneer Computers, and class discussion.
- (1/31) Term paper assigned today in class. Due Thurs, Feb 21.
- (1/29) Quiz 2 on Tues 1/29 will cover readings from week 2, part 1 of the video Computer Pioneers and Pioneer Computers, and class discussion.
- (1/28) Part 2 of Computer Pioneers and Pioneer Computers will be viewed Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6:30PM in GHC 4101.
- (1/22) Quiz 1 will cover the readings from week 1, the video Modern Marvels: Creation of the Computer, and class discussion. Quizzes will be given at the start of class on Tuesdays, so please be on time.
- (1/21) Film viewing starts Monday, January 21. The film for each week will be shown on Mondays and Tuesdays, 6:30-7:50PM, in GHC 4101. You are required to attend one showing per week. If you have a conflict with both days, see the course staff in class.
- (1/7) This course is a mini-course worth 6 units that
ends on Friday, March 8. Our first class meets Tuesday, January 15.
