DVD Collection

Below is a list of DVDs in my current collection. In brackets are my
personal ratings (of course they're skewed; I own these! ;-).
Some ratings are missing since I haven't had a chance to see them
even once (if only there were more time... :-( ).
Once again, send your comments, suggestions and/or flames to
spapadim+@cs.cmu.edu.

Nice musical adaptation of the story. Although a few parts may be too
rythmic/melodic (thus a tad monotonous/predictable), good overall.
Good (mostly Brittish) cast too. |

DVD Spectacular |
Setup tracks and Dolby Digital trailers |
Some useful setup tracks (though a subwoofer calibration track is missing, for us
poor souls without a meager spectrum analyzer), plus the necessary Dolby trailers
for a complete demo. ;-) |
| N/A |
DTS Digital Surround Collection |
Demo and setup tracks |
A few good song mixes, plus the sub calibration track that was missing
from DVD Spectacular. |
Legend: LB = Widescreen Letterboxed, WS = Widescreen Anamorphic,
FS = Full Screen,
DD = Dolby Digital (followed by number of encoded channels, and
possibly a qualifier MONO, or SRD = Dolby Prologic Surround).

Current System
|
|
The last few years I've been somewhat interested in high-end audio.
I've built a "basic" system slowly, but the more I listen to it, the more
I realize how far it is from "true hi-fi" (BTW, anyone have a relatively large
room and 20-30 grand to spare? ;-).
Anyway, here some links to companies and current components:
Finally, if you are in the Pittsburgh area, don't forget to have a look at
my favourite dealer! :-)
