My name is Sid, short for Siddhartha. I am now a postdoc in Professor David Gifford's lab at MIT. Previously I was a Ph.D. student (2011-2017) in the Computer Science Department, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University, where I was part of the Systems Biology Lab, advised by Professor Ziv Bar-Joseph.
I hold a B.Sc. in Mathematics-Computer Science from the Computer Science Department at Brown University. At Brown I worked mainly with the Professor Pascal Van Hentenryck and Dr. Meinolf Sellmann

Briefly, my research involves applying machine learning to biological data to derive biological insight -- what cell signaling pathways are involved in the immune response to a virus, how to use data from different types of experiments to train a model, etc. I'm also very interested in time series analysis and deep learning.
