I am currently a post doc in the Machine Learning department at Carnegie Mellon University, where I work with Eric Xing in the SAILING laboratory. Prior to this, I was a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, working with Zoubin Ghahramani in the Computational and Biological
Learning group, in the Department of
I am interested in nonparametric Bayesian methods for use in machine
learning applications. In particular, I am interested in dependent nonparametric processes -- distributions over collections of measures indexed by values in some covariate space -- and in nonparametric latent variable models.
| Apr 2013|| I will be joining the McCombs Business School at UT Austin as an Assistant Professor in Statistics, in August 2013.
| Feb 2013|| Our paper on dependent random measures has been selected as a Notable Paper at AISTATS. Check out the preprint.
| Dec 2012|| Our paper on nonparametric time-varying topic models has been accepted at SDM.
| Dec 2012|| Our paper on parallel inference in Bayesian nonparametric models has been accepted at ICML.
| Dec 2012|| Check out
our paper on slice sampling a class of dependent normalized
random measures at NIPS!
| Sept 2012|| I will be talking about slice sampling for dependent nonparametric models at the ICERM workshop on Bayesian nonparametrics at Brown University.
| June 2012|| I will be talking about beta processes at the ISBA meeting in Tokyo later this month.
| May 2012|| Our paper on modeling images using transformed IBPs will be presented at ICML in Edinburgh. |
| Dec 2011|| I will be presenting on "Flexible nonparametric models via restriction" at ERCIM in London
| Sept 2011|| I have started a post doc at Carnegie Mellon, working with Eric Xing.
|March 2011|| I will be visiting Hal
Daumé III's group at the
University of Maryland until August.|
