BIO

I'm currently a Ph.D. student in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. Previously, I received my B.S. in compute science and engineering from Seoul National University. I joined CMU in 2007.



RESEARCH

I'm interested in computer vision and machine learning, advised by Prof. Takeo Kanade and Prof. Stephen Fienberg, respectively. In computer vision, I focus on live cell microscopy video analysis, particularly, detection of celluar events--mitosis (cell division), apoptosis (cell death), and differentiation--and tracking of cells. In machine learning, I develop temporal dynamic models and manifold learning algorithms.
