CALL FOR PAPERS

     Special Issue on Distributed Algorithms

SCOPE:

Submissions are invited for a limited number of papers 
in a Special Issue of Theoretical Computer Science on
Distributed Algorithms. Papers are solicited on the 
theory, design and analysis of distributed algorithms.
Topics of particular interest, as related to distributed 
algorithms, include (but are not limited to):


 communication networks -- protocols and architectures;
 competitive analysis of distributed algorithms;
 concurrency control and synchronization;
 distributed applications, paradigms and services;
 algorithms for distributed databases;
 fault-tolerance and self-stabilization;
 knowledge in distributed systems;
 multiprocessor algorithms and architectures;
 performance and scalability issues;
 privacy, security and cryptographic protocols;
 randomized distributed algorithms;
 semantics, specification and verification;
 synchrony, asynchrony, partial synchrony and real-time;
 timing-based distributed computation;
 topological methods and techniques.



Only work that contains rigorous analysis of the 
complexity and performance of distributed algorithms, 
or proofs of appropriate impossibility results and lower 
bounds, is sought. Theoretical work accompanied by 
experimental results is especially valued. Surveys and 
tutorial expositions of permanent reference value are 
also welcome. All submitted papers must be original,
exclusively submitted to this Special Issue.

Authors are encouraged to submit their papers electronically.

cover letter. Authors unable to submit electronically
